Organizers of One Fun Run present check to West Chester Hospital | News

WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) - Event organizers from the Miles That Matter Foundation, organizers of the One Fun Run 5K Run/Walk & Party presented a gift of $10,500.00 to the leaders of West Chester Hospital, a benefactor of proceeds from the event held on August 18, 2012.

The event, held for the second year on the West Chester Hospital campus, featured a 5K run/walk, auction, games and activities, and an after-party with music and dancing.

The Miles That Matter Foundation mission is to educate and promote health and fitness in local communities with an emphasis on enriching each life touched through a variety of fundraising events and long-distance running training programs.

“We are extremely honored to have had the opportunity to work with the Miles that Matter Foundation and to participate in this wonderful event that emphasizes the enrichment of people’s health and lives,” stated Tom Daskalakis, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of West Chester Hospital. “We are sincerely appreciative that our hospital was chosen as a benefactor to receive a portion of the proceeds from this worthwhile event.”

The One Fun Run event was created by the Miles That Matter Foundation to celebrate health and fitness, and encourage people to get and stay fit. West Chester Hospital collaborated with the Miles that Matter Foundation to host the event. Hospital officials plan to direct donated funds to further improve patient care services.
