WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) - Twenty West Chester EMS professionals and emergency communications officers will be honored during this Emergency Medical Services Week for the role they played in bringing babies into the world.

They will receive the “Stork Award” for assisting in childbirth calls during the past year. EMS Week, May 18-25, is observed nationwide to recognize the work of first responders and to provide public education opportunities in the delivery of CPR and first aid.

“We receive a lot of different calls, so being there for the delivery of a baby, especially when everyone is healthy, is really nice,” said Josh Hains, one of the Stork Award recipients. “You always worry about the health of the patient, but when mom and baby are healthy it is pretty special to be a part of that.”

WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) - The UC Health Women's Center in West Chester officially opened to the public on Thursday.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held with several doctors, hospital officials and community leaders in attendance.

The new facility is located in the medical building next door to West Chester Hospital.

The 26,000 square foot state of the art facility provides an attractive comfortable environment designed to put you at ease in any of its 47 examination rooms, including therapeutic, education and conference rooms.

There will be a coffee shop for women to enjoy and the latest health care and skin care products available to complete the comprehensive multi-specialty experience for women on the go.
