Skin health seminar being held at UC West Chester Hospital
WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) - A free seminar is being held in West Chester to educate the public on the importance of skin health care.
The seminar is scheduled for Wednesday, May 15 from 7pm - 8:30pm and will be repeated on Saturday, May 18 from 9am - 10:30am at West Chester Hospital.
According to the American Academy of Dermatology, one in five people will develop skin cancer. It’s a well-known fact that sun exposure is the biggest cause of melanoma and other skin cancers. However, early diagnosis and treatment can increase the survival rate for those diagnosed with skin cancer.
The seminars will help people learn about taking proper care of your skin as you age, avoiding the dangers of sun exposure and lowering the risk of being diagnosed with skin cancer. These seminars will feature the region’s leading physician specialists who specialize in dermatology, oncology, plastic surgery and primary care medicine.
