Police looking for help in attempted Meijer parking lot abduction

WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) - West Chester Police are asking for public help and asking people to be conscious of their surroundings after an attempted abduction last week outside the Meijer store on Tylersville Road, west of I-75.

Police say that a woman was accosted in the parking lot of the Meijer around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24 when she was getting into her car.

The suspect tried to pull the victim from her car, but she fought back and freed herself from him.  The man ran to a nearby SUV and drove off.

He is described as a tanned-skinned Caucasian or Hispanic male, about 5'7" tall, and was wearing a brown or tan jacket.  The vehicle is described as an unknown SUV with a square or boxy body.

Anyone knowing anything about this man or incident is asked to call the West Chester Police at 513-759-7272.

MHS's Wang Qualifies for NFL National Tournament

MASON,OH- Congratulations to Mason High School junior Qian Wang, who qualified for the National Forensic League National Tournament in US Extemporaneous Speaking at the Western Ohio NFL District Tournament at Gahanna-Lincoln High School. This is the second year in a row that Wang has been a National qualifier. This is the second year in a row that Wang has been a National qualifier. He will compete at Nationals in Dallas, Texas, from June 13 through 18, 2011.  MHS language arts teacher Melissa Donahue is Wang's Speech & Debate coach.  In an Extemporaneous Speaking competition, a contestant draws three questions, selects one, then has thirty minutes to prepare a speech in response.

WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) - The WCL writers' group is hosted by and meets at the West Chester Library on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the library conference room.

The writers' group is open to all writers, at all skills levels and of all genres.  The group meets for peer support and critique.
